One of my favorite things about Social Networks, especially LinkedIn is that they never sleep! When we are working with Sales People they are typically well conditioned to blocking their Dial and Connection time during prime business hours so they can catch their prospects picking up the phone.
Well, with Social Networks like LinkedIn you can block your time for “Interactions” during “your” most convenient time, not the “prospects” most convenient time. So let’s say for instance if you are a morning person, hit the Gym, check emails and adjust your schedule, then set your Social Interaction time at that point when you’re focused and not taking or making calls. The great thing is that you can do this any time you like; the key thing is to do it. Schedule it like a workout or your dial time. Just be consistent and you will take advantage of this great new vehicle to connect and be interactive with your network, oh and don’t forget to set those appointments while you are being interactive (covered is the previous blog)!
